Bart de Haas lives in Atlin, and in Holland. He is our neighbour here in Atlin. I've had a chance to speak to some of his clients over the years and they speak highly of him as a person, and highly of his trips. He offers a unique wilderness experience. Bart and his family & friends are a most welcome asset to this community. CM
Taku Adventures website says:

Taku Adventures organizes active and instructive trips in the Canadian wilderness. Our main goal is to offer participants a pleasant holiday, but we also strive to teach them the skills and knowledge they need for travelling safely and being well prepared in remote areas. Respect for and an insight into nature are key values. Our mission is the support to the conservation of the wilderness.

Bart de Haas is the founder of Taku Adventures. Over the years he has gathered a dedicated team of people who support Taku Adventures and its activities. Sharing knowledge is the main purpose of both the instructive courses in the Netherlands and the hiking trips in Canada. www.takuadventures.nl/taku/eindex.html

Guided Glacier Walk

Last summer, I had three visitors from Japan staying at Moore HouseB&B. They took a Guided Glacier Walk with Gernot Dick of Atlin Quest. They left Atlin early in the morning, travelling by jetboat to the south end of the lake at Willison Bay. One toe of the Llewellyn Glacier comes out there. They then walked for about 3 hours to get right up onto the ice and into the ice caves. Gernot gave them crampons to fit over their boots to give them traction on the ice. When they returned to Atlin that night, they were tired but glowing with accomplishment, and thrilled with the beauty and wonders they had seen! Contact Gernot Dick at 250-651-7452 and check out the Atlin Quest website at www.atlinquest.com

PS: Ask Gernot about chartered jetboat tours on Atlin Lake, Atlin River and beyond. You'll love it! I do.
